During the war, Kent was known worldwide for being the lettuce capital of the world. In the space of ten years, the city multiplied by ten, and in 1965 Boeing began to build aerospace and other high tech companies within the area. Kent also has its own museum, which was formally known as the Bereiter house. Soon after, Kent got a sports team, known as the Seattle Thunderbirds. Although Kent used to be thriving with agriculture and greenery, it is now home to various companies and organizations.
Kent is divided up into three areas; there is the East Hill, the Valley and the Westhill, with Lake Meridan on the East side. You will also find that Kent also has 73 parks, including skate parks, mini parks, green belts and more, popular multi cultural restaurants, new Kent station outdoor mall so there is always plenty to keep you occupied.
